Tapestry Charter High School is an Expeditionary Learning School (ELS), emphasizing high achievement through active learning, character growth and teamwork. The high school, which grew out of the K-8 lower school, opened in the fall of 2006 with fifty 9th graders.  It has continued to grow one grade per year, adding seventy-five students each year, and graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2010.  100% graduated! Ongoing professional development for teachers, provided through ELS school designers and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is a cornerstone of Tapestry’s program.  Tapestry Charter High School also has a formal partnership with Canisius College’s Department of Education.
