In 2014 I began working at Tapestry feeding all of our hungry kiddos. I am our K-4 School Chef and I absolutely love the daily challenges I face experimenting with new recipes and encouraging our students to try new, homemade and sometimes unfamiliar dishes. Although I do not have children of my own, I consider myself fortunate to be able to spend my days creating, preparing and teaching our students about the value of good nutrition.
I gained my culinary experience running the kitchen at my mom’s restaurant, Solid Grounds, for 13 years. In between my cooking jobs, I had a “desk job”. And let’s just say I’m more comfortable with a whisk and a mixing bowl than a computer and a copier! Prior to that, I graduated from Buffalo Seminary High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oneonta State College.
