Reopening Update
October 31, 2020
Dear Tapestry Families,
An individual attending our high school notified Tapestry over the weekend that they had received a positive test case of COVID-19 on October 31, 2020. Tapestry contacted The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) and while the positive case was confirmed, given that this individual was last in the school building on October 21, 2020, along with other verified specifics of the case, the ECDOH has confirmed that this currently positive COVID-19 individual had no exposure to anyone while they were at Tapestry, in school.
This serves as an informational notice to our school community and does not mean that you or your child have been exposed to or have come in close or proximate contact with the COVID-19 positive individual.
Please be aware that we cannot release the name or any other personally identifiable information regarding this individual. However, it is important to note that this person is in isolation and the ECDOH is conducting contact tracing to identify all individuals who may have been in close or proximate contact with the COVID-19 positive individual. The ECDOH will directly communicate with any individual who is identified as a close or proximate contact to the positive COVID-19 individual so that further health and safety measures can be taken. If you are not directly contacted by the ECDOH, the Department has indicated no subsequent action is required for you or your child(ren) at this time as it pertains to this positive case.
We have infectious disease health and safety protocols in place to minimize the spread of the virus and other illnesses. To that end, our school buildings are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a nightly basis.
All students, parents, guardians, and staff should continue to monitor their health for symptoms of COVID-19 and follow our temperature screening protocols. If your child or a family member begins experiencing any COVID-19 like symptoms, or you believe they may have come in contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19, please keep them home and contact your healthcare provider.
Thank you again for your continued support as we work through these challenging times.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesistate to contact me or any building leader directly.
We are crew.
Thank you,
Eric Klapper
Executive Director
