Reopening Update

September 14, 2020

Dear Tapestry Family,

Thank you all for the abundance of trust and cooperation and patience that you have showered our Tapestry staff and school leadership with over our first week back to this extraordinary year.  We know that many of you have had to make difficult choices and sacrifices leading up to this school year’s start, and we want you to know that we have every intention of making this school year one that is filled with adaptation, learning and partnership.  We are crew and we’ll see this through together.

Based on a new requirement from Governor Cuomo, all New York school districts will be required to provide the Department of Health (DOH) with daily data on the number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19. The information will be publicly available on a new online COVID-19 school data tracking dashboard, developed by DOH, which can be found here and via a link on our Tapestry Reopening webpage, here.  Since we are not conducting COVID-19 testing, we ask that you stay in close contact your child’s building principal if you or your child tests positive for COVID-19.

Please be aware that Tapestry cannot release the name or any other personally identifiable information in these situations, but we will continue to report confirmed cases of COVID-19 to the state’s Dashboard and notify you via email in the event a positive case is reported to us.  At this time, there have been no positive cases of COVID-19 reported to the school.

Thank you all for continuing to be mindful and diligent of the precautions we all must take for each other: wash your hands; stay physically distant, but socially connected; wear your mask; continue to monitor your temperature and the temperatures of your children, and keep them home if they are experiencing symptoms.

We’re not out of the woods yet, and we’ll need to continue to work together and support each other and stay diligent.

We are crew.

Thank you,

Eric Klapper

Executive Director
