Welcome to Tapestry Charter School
At Tapestry Charter School, we believe that students thrive when families and schools work together as partners. The Family Resource Center exists to strengthen that partnership by connecting students and families to resources, supports, and community-based programs that promote stability, growth, and well-being.
Rooted in our commitment to equity, inclusion, and educating the whole child, the Family Resource Center serves as an accessible space designed to support and empower families. Through shared resources, information, and connections, we aim to ensure all families have access to the tools and opportunities they need to strengthen relationships, build skills, and feel connected within our caring K–12 school community.
Whether you are seeking guidance, resources, or connection, the Family Resource Center is here to support your family and walk alongside you on your Tapestry journey.
Our Values in Action
At Tapestry Charter School, our values guide how we support students and families every day. Through the Family Resource Center, these values come to life in meaningful ways:
- Partnership: We work collaboratively with families, staff, and community organizations to share resources and support student success.
- Equity & Access: We strive to ensure all families can access information, services, and opportunities that meet their unique needs.
- Educating the Whole Child: We support academic, social, emotional, and family well-being, recognizing that learning extends beyond the classroom.
- Community & Connection: We foster strong relationships across our K–12 school community, helping families feel informed, supported, and connected.
- Empowerment: We provide tools and guidance that help families build skills, advocate for their children, and thrive together.
How We Can Help
The Family Resource Center is here to support families at every stage of their Tapestry journey. Through this online hub, families can access helpful resources, learn about school and community supports, and stay connected to opportunities that strengthen student success and family well-being.
Whether you are navigating a school transition, looking for social-emotional supports, or seeking community resources, the Family Resource Center is designed to help you find information, connections, and guidance—all in one place.
We are committed to working in partnership with families to ensure every student feels supported, connected, and prepared to thrive within our K–12 school community.

McKinney-Vento Liaison
Tapestry Charter School designates McKinney-Vento Liaisons to support students and families experiencing housing instability. Under the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, every school must have a staff member who helps ensure that students without stable housing are identified, enrolled, and connected to the supports they need to succeed in school. If you are experiencing housing instability, please contact our McKinney-Vento Liaisons:
Becky Goggins – Grades k-4 [email protected]
Anthony Laureano – Grades 5-8 [email protected]
Laura Bennett – Grades 9-12 [email protected]
Tapestry Food Pantry
The Tapestry Food Pantry is here to support our school community. We are open every Monday from 3–4 PM (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday). Families can enter through the lower school doors (111 Great Arrow Ave) near the playground.
The pantry offers a variety of fresh (when available) and non-perishable food items for any family in need. Our goal is to make sure everyone in our community has access to nutritious food in a welcoming and supportive environment. All are welcome!

How Does It Work?
Speak with the FRC Team
Families typically begin by connecting with the Director of Family Engagement & Support. Based on your family’s needs, support may be provided directly through Tapestry Charter School, or we may help connect you with trusted community partners and services.
When appropriate, support is family-centered and may involve parents, caregivers, and other family members. This approach allows us to address the academic, social, and emotional factors that can impact a student’s learning and success across all grade levels.
Referrals and Appoitments
Referrals to the Family Resource Center can be made by your child’s school counselor, social worker, or psychologist. Families may also contact the Family Resource Center directly, or reach out to their child’s counselor, social worker, or psychologist to request an appointment.
On-Site Services & Community Agengies
Through the Family Resource Center, Tapestry Charter School partners with trusted community human service agencies to support families’ social, educational, mental, and physical well-being. By combining school-based support with community partnerships, families are able to access services in a coordinated, approachable, and supportive way.
With school counselors and support staff connected to the Family Resource Center, families benefit from streamlined access to both on-site supports and external community services designed to meet a wide range of needs.

FAQs
Who is Eligible?
Services through the Family Resource Center are available to families with school-aged children enrolled at Tapestry Charter School. The goal of the Family Resource Center is to reduce non-academic barriers to learning by supporting families when social, emotional, or behavioral challenges may be impacting a student’s success at school.
Support is provided in partnership with families when a need has been identified through school staff or when a family reaches out directly for assistance.
Is it Confidential?
The Family Resource Center is committed to respecting family privacy. Counselors and support staff will not communicate with school personnel or outside providers without the written consent of the family, except in certain legally mandated or safety-related circumstances.
Workshops and discussion groups follow the same commitment to confidentiality, and Family Resource Center staff uphold these standards at all times. While the Center cannot guarantee the actions or confidentiality of non-staff participants in group settings, expectations around respect and privacy are clearly communicated.
Is it Free?
Many Family Resource Center services and group sessions are offered at no cost to families. If a family receives individual counseling through one of our community partner agencies, those services may be billed through insurance, depending on the provider and coverage.
Is Marital Counseling Available?
While the Family Resource Center does not provide marital counseling, we recognize that family relationships and conflict can impact the well-being of children. When appropriate, these concerns may be addressed within the context of family counseling and parenting support, with a focus on strengthening the family unit and supporting student success.
Domestic Violence
Tapestry’s Family Support Center works directly with family members who have experienced harm or abuse. We do not provide services to individuals who have caused harm. Our priority is to maintain a safe, supportive, and non-threatening environment for children and families.
There are community agencies that specialize in counseling and intervention services for individuals who have engaged in abusive behavior, and referrals to those services can be provided upon request.

Our Mission
