Mr. Blane has been a member of the Tapestry Charter High School faculty for nine years, where he inspires students to view the world through an artistic lens. His teaching philosophy centers on the belief that art is everywhere—from the food we eat to the shoes we wear—and that creative expression is essential to understanding life itself. As he often reminds his students, “To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it.” — Kurt Vonnegut.

One of his favorite aspects of working at Tapestry is the camaraderie and strong relationships he shares with colleagues and students alike. He values the school’s emphasis on community and collaboration, particularly through Crew, where he enjoys watching students grow academically and personally while maintaining connections with graduates long after they leave Tapestry.
