In her role as Tapestry’s Chief Academic Officer, Mrs. Pangborn will drive our K-12 initiatives on curriculum, instruction, pedagogy, and learning, as well as work together with our Compass Leadership Team, and more directly with building principals, to support, guide and further develop Tapestry’s instructional vision and sustain our culture of high expectation and shared responsibility for equitable access to high quality and culturally relevant instruction. She will work to create and maintain partnerships between our schools and community partners in higher education, teacher preparation and mentorship that ensure closer alignment of resources with school needs, to drive the implementation of our school’s work plans to ensure effective teaching in every classroom, and to create conditions that ensure systemic improvement of practice in every classroom.
Mrs. Pangborn earned a Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in History & Elementary Education from SUNY Brockport, followed by a Master’s degree in School Administration & Leadership from Hood College in Maryland in 2013. Prior to her assuming the role of K-5 Principal at Tapestry in 2016, Mrs. Pangborn spent thirteen years in the classroom that led to a 2008 Who’s Who Women in Education and 2011 Master Teacher Award for Frederick County, MD. She served as a Staff Developer for Instructional Excellence for CA BOCES and a Pre K-12 Director of Curriculum in the Southern Tier, and thereafter as a K-4 Administrator at another charter school in Buffalo.
Mrs. Pangborn’s passion lies in inspiring and empowering diverse groups of students and staff alike, to achieve at high levels by fostering critical partnerships with stakeholders, moving towards a shared vision.
